On-Line Backup
There are a number of options for on-line backup solutions. One of the continuing problems for online backup solutions is limited upload bandwidth of many internet providers. While many offer 10-20MB of download bandwidth (speed) often upload speeds are a fraction of this. For many companies particularly those with large SQL database applications its not yet practical to use On-Line Backup Solutions. Additional information will be coming soon on some On-Line Backup Solutions that will work in some cases.

Local Backup Solutions
Local backup solutions consist of backup media and backup software. Our selections are not only reliable but easy to use for both backup and restore functions.
Backup Media
For reliable backups we recommend USB Hard Drives or USB Flash Drives. Backup systems should consist of 3-5 portable backup devices.
Our recommended choice for Backup Software if Lockstep’s Backup for Workgroups. Our preferred system has a centralized backup computer or server with a secondary harddrive used exclusively for backups. Mirrored backup devices such as USB Hard Drives or USB Flash Drives such as those above are used for a copy of the backup to take off-site. The backup computer or server does not have to be a machine dedicated only for Backup for Workgroups. It only has to be available on the network during the scheduled backup times for the other computers and servers on the network and have enough hard drive space to contain the backup files for the other computers and servers.
